Leaders challenge: beat us down the hill!

Two esteemed Church Leaders have thrown down the gauntlet…

…and issued a challenge to all Principals and Pastors of the Lutheran church:

To beat them down the hill in our ALWS Walk My Way!

Assistant Bishop for Mission, Pastor Stephen 'I can't put a life jacket on by myself' Schultz, is offering a bottle of red, from vines planted by Lutheran pioneers in the Barossa, to any pastor who can beat him to the finish line of the 26km trail…

…while Encounter College Principal, Kelvin 'I run half marathons like it's a walk in the park' Grivell, has challenged his fellow Principals and Directors with a free dinner on offer.

No matter who wins, the great news is every $26 raised will help refugee children go to school!

Reckon YOUR pastor or children’s principal is up to the challenge? Send them this post to let them know!

After finishing in the Top 10 in 2017, Pastor Stephen reckons he can beat most of his colleagues.

‘Pastors are pretty soft,’ he says. (Them’s fightin’ words!!)

Yet both Pastor Stephen and Kelvin agree that if Pastor Dean Zweck is running again, they’ll be out of pocket. Pastor Dean ran the 2017 trail in three hours and 12 minutes.

‘If Dean is running…I’ll give him his bottle before he even starts!’ says Pastor Stephen.

The good news is you don’t have to be a Pastor or Principal to be part of Walk My Way.

There are many ways you can join in:

  1. Register to Walk. If 26km is too far, shorter options are available.
  2. Get a team from your church together – and challenge the church down the road to beat you!
  3. Sponsor Pastor Stephen, Kelvin or another Walker.
  4. Not in SA? Not a problem! Organise your own event – or watch this space for upcoming events in Queensland and WA!
  5. If you can’t walk far, or you use a wheelchair or walker, you can join our German Farmhouse Breakfast and Lutheran Historical Walk – details here.

Can't wait to see you there!
